Realistic paintings and drawings specializing in portraits, landscapes, and still life
Background
Andrea Walker creates realistic paintings and drawings, and she specializes in portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Her work is influenced by the people, objects, and nature scenes from her life living across America and her travels in Europe. Andrea was born and raised in East Tennessee and then moved to Georgia to study Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design and attained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, while also studying with acclaimed portrait painter Amy Lind. She now resides and works in Boulder, Colorado.
Andrea has always been detail oriented and enjoys rendering light and shadow, as well as unique textures. Because of these qualities she enjoys and excels in realistic painting and drawing, where refined detail, realistic rendering of form, and representational surfaces and texture can shine. Andrea works in pastel, watercolor, and digitally and enjoys both the depth and vibrancy of color, as well as the contrast of black and white work. She finds experimenting with color harmonies, composition, and the innate texture of the medium plus the created textures from the hand of the artist to be an exciting combination. These techniques and approaches have won her many awards, inclusion in juried exhibitions internationally, and features in curated publications.
