Quilt art interpreting memories from our visual senses
I grew up in the village of Hudson Falls in northern New York State near the entrance to the Adirondack State Park. I lived on both the east and west US coasts near the Blue Ridge and Santa Ynez Mountains, respectively, before settling near Mount Oread, a limestone rich hill in Lawrence Kansas! I am proud to be a first generation college graduate and academic junkie who recently retired as Professor Emerita from the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kansas.
I began making traditional bed quilts for friends and family while I was working at the University. It was a great part time hobby. After taking classes with Alice Kettle, Jane Sassaman, Ruth McDowell, and Sian Martin, I decided to retire early so I could become a full time quilt artist. I am very happy with this new career path.
