Non-Objective Abstract Sculpture
Leo Franco is a Denver-based, non-objective sculptor, who has been active in the Denver Alternative Arts scene for the past 30 years. I challenge myself to create something unique each time I construct a new piece of art. My art is always about the relationships that take place within the piece of art. Art - to me - is the 'ideal' concept or geometry of a thing, rather than its actual appearance in the natural world.
My ideas come purely from my imagination. I explore lines and shapes, and arrangements to create structures and harmony – resulting in the beauty of order. My inspirations range from classical and jazz music, to Japanese aesthetics and philosophy.
He have exhibited in many venues in Colorado, including the Loveland Sculpture Show, the Loveland Art Museum, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and the Governor’s Art Show. He is a member of Spark Gallery and former Co-Director of Spark Gallery in Denver’s Santa Fe Arts District (2015-2017).
