Portrait & figurative paintings with fractal patterns overlaid with realism
Background
Through portrait and figure paintings, Lisa Fricker explores visual and human relationships, as well as theories that help us understand the natural world. She pushes to engage micro and macro scale – fractals, creating organic patterns and expressive texture overlaid with realism in oils and pastels. Imagined by some to be a “soul grabber”, she investigates formative experiences of self-creation. “The universe teems with astounding beauty and mystery across every scale. I’d like to capture our place in it – through paint.”
Distinguished by her mastery of color and dazzling handling of light, she has attained signature status in seven organizations. Lisa’s portraits and murals are found in hundreds of public and private collections.
